At the time of booking, we collect payment in full for reservations of 5 nights or less. For any reservation over 5 nights, we collect the first 5 nights at the time of booking and automatically charge the remainder on your card upon your Cancellation Policy Date. Deposits are fully refundable until your Cancellation Policy Date.
CANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY
Our standard Cancellation Policy Date is 30 (thirty) days prior to your arrival date, effective for reservations made on or after August 1, 2020. Reservations made prior to August 1, 2020, fall under the Cancellation Policy Date of 60 (sixty) days.
Any cancellation requests received prior to the Cancellation Policy Date will receive a full refund. Any cancellation requests received on or after the Cancellation Policy Date will not be refunded.
CORONA VIRUS CANCELLATION POLICY as of 3/27/20 (updated 4/8/20).
As a very small hotel, our cancellation policy must be flexible enough to support our guests while also not undermining the financial soundness of keeping the hotel afloat and the staff engaged. An important difference about our special slice of paradise versus the big hotels is that we do not overbook our hotel, so your reserved room is waiting for you. If we provided refunds for last minute cancellations, our sole source of income would be greatly impacted. On the other hand, we want to try our best to support you during these extraordinary travel times.
In this spirit, we have adopted the following cancellation policy at the Kona Tiki Hotel, effective for cancellations from March 1, 2020 - August 31, 2020. This policy is in effect as of March 21, 2020; however, it can be applied to previously cancelled reservations from March 1, 2020 onward, if this revised policy best serves the customer.
A reservation cancelled outside the traditional cancellation period of 60 days will receive a full refund.
A reservation cancelled within the traditional cancellation period of 60 days from arrival will receive a TWO YEAR credit from the date of arrival for the initial reservation. For example, a $300 reservation that is cancelled with an arrival date of April 2, 2020 can be re-booked at any time at a value of $300, so long as the new reservation has an arrival date before 4/2/2022.
Please keep in mind when you are considering re-booking that we have very busy times when the hotel is booked many months in advance (December through March).
Also keep in mind that a modified reservation due to Covid-19 that was canceled or modified within the 60-day cancellation period is not refundable.
